Menorca's Climate
Menorca has typical Mediterranean weather, with mild winters and
hot summers and an average of 315 days of sunshine a year. After the winter rains and storms, Menorca/ Minorca
blooms with meadows of blue cornflowers, yellow marguerites and
bright red poppies. The summers are dry and hot with as much as
11 hours of sunshine each day and temperatures reaching 28ºC
in July and August. From November thru to February Menorca becomes
cooler with more rain falling particularly on the higher ground.
The island is effected by the (sometimes strong) northerly "tramuntana"
winds that cool the climate especially in the winter.
The average summer temperature is 24ºC. The winter average
is 11ºC. The average annual temperature is aproximately 17º
celcius. The average annual rainfall is between 450 mms in the south
eastern region and 650 mms in the central and the north eastern
region. Rainfall distribution isn't the same every year although
the maximum seasonal rainfall is in the autumn.
Menorca is the wettest and the coolest of the Balearic islands
since it is further north and further out to sea than the other
islands.

Menorca Weather in January & February
The climate in Menorca in January can be effected by rainy weather with an average of 64mm of rainfall and 3.5 hours of shunshine. In February rainfall falls off slightly with an average of 49mms and 4.5 hours of Sunshine. Sea temperatures are around 15 degrees celcius in January and February. Humidity in these months is aproximately 77% on average. There are an average of 8 days with rainfall in January.
Menorca Weather in March & April
The climate in Menorca in March and April really begins to warm up with increasing sunlight hours although one can still expect some rainfall with around 48mm falling on average. In March there are on average 6 hours of sunshine and in April an average of 7 hours. There are an average of 6 days with rainfall in April.
The Weather in May and June on the island of Menorca
In May and June Menorca enjoys some of it's best weather. Average temperatures of 13 to 25 degrees celcius on average and between 7 and 8.5 hours of sunshine. Humidity begins to drop off from 77% in April to 71% in May.
The Weather in July and August on the island of Menorca
July and August are the hottest and driest months of the year with average temperatures of between 20 and 29 degrees celcius slightly cooler on the north and west of the island. Sunny weather predominates with
11 hours of sunshine in July and 10 in August. Rainfall is rare in July with an average of 7mm rainfall falling on just 1 day. This increses to 30mms in August.
Autumn Weather in Menorca: September and October
In september temperatures begin to cool down with an average of 18 to 26 degrees celcius. The weather is sill quite sunny with an aveerage of 7 hours of sunshine falling to 6 in October. Rainfall increases considerably and october is Menorcs's wettest month with 105mms of average and a humidity of 77%.
In octber there are an average of 9 days with rainfall.
The Weather in November and December in Menorca
In November one can still expect 92mms of rainfall and 4 hours of sunshine with high temperatures falling to 18 degrees on average. December sees only 3 hours of sunshine on average and low temperatures averaging 8 degrees.
Humidity in these months is 77% on average with average rainfall falling from 92mms to 82mms.
